The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control
has concluded the laboratory analysis of the Madagascar drug, authoritative
sources close to the development have revealed.
The herbal drug sample, which the Madagascar government claimed
could cure COVID-19 symptoms, was handed over to NAFDAC during the last week of
May 2020.
The drug sample, which was also shared with the National Institute
for Pharmaceutical Research and Development, and the Nigerian Institute of
Medical Research, has now spent seven weeks with the agencies.
A top official privy to the development said NAFDAC had completed
its analysis and the report would be forwarded to the PTF any moment from now.
