ONE CELEBRATES IDG IN GRAND STYLE IN EKITI STATE.



Since 2012, 11 October has been marked as the International Day of the Girl. The day aims to highlight and address the needs and challenges girls face, while promoting girls' empowerment and the fulfillment of their human rights.

Across the world, empowered girls are raising their voices to fight for their rights and protection in all contexts. They are working to end violence against women and girls, to recognize indigenous rights, and to build peaceful and cohesive communities.

As One Campaign celebrates the international Day of the Girls in grand style all over the world, it was celebrated in a grand style in Ekiti State Nigeria with Journalists, Bloggers and social media influencers where the importance of social media towards enhancing girl child education was harmonized.

The ONE organisation member in ekiti, Led by the state ONE champion, Temitope Awelewa took the campaign glamorous, first was a visit to St.Lawrence school in ekiti to meet with the girls and educate them more on the girls count campaign, then to the Ekiti state pavilion where corpers CDS in Ekiti holds to meet the youth corps to make them to ne aware of the giant strides of ONE in Nigeria and what they can do to also support the girls count campaign.

Next was an advocacy visit to a media mogule, the managing director Voice FM, Ekiti which was a grand meeting, we were taken on a live programme on behalf of the Girl counts campaign and a brief enhancing encouragement from the managing director was life lifting.
