Wizkid Wins Best International Act: Africa At The BET AWARDS 2017

Nigerian music act, Ayo Balogun popularly known as Wizkid, has won the BET award for the Best International Act category.
The ‘Surulere’ Lagos-based crooner was announced the winner on Saturday in Los Angeles, United States of America — after he was earlier nominated along with other Nigerian and African music and entertainment artistes, during the BET Awards 2016 nomination exercise in the US. (Photo trailer: above)
This is the second straight year the former EME star will be winning the award.
Wizkid beat four other Nigerian artistes — Davido, Mr Eazi and Tekno to clinch the coveted music and entertainment prize
The quartet was nominated alongside AKA, Babes Wodumo, Nasty C and Stonebwoy.
Last year, the ‘Closer’ singer was nominated alongside Yemi Alade.
Nigeria’s brightest act Wizkid just won Best International Act: Africa, at the 2017 edition of the Black Entertainment Television, BET, Award.
According to reports from Los Angeles, the “Come Closer” crooner beat his Nigerian counterparts Tekno, Mr Eazi, Davido, and other African artistes like AKA (South Africa).

He also beat BABES WODUMO (South Africa), NASTY C (South Africa) and STONEBWOY (Ghana) to grab the coveted honour.
This honour will make Wizkid the first African artiste to win the Best International Act: Africa twice. He first won the award in 2012.
He was billed to perform at the BET Awards weekend for the BET Experience. The Nigerian music star will release his sophomore album in July, precisely on the 14th. The long-awaited album is titled “Sounds From The Other Side” (SFTOS). The project will have a good number of international features.
